The Holy Mundane Project
Welcome back to The Finch Nest. I have had a series on my heart for a while that I want to share with you all! This new project is called The Holy Mundane. The idea of The Holy Mundane was brought from a place of watching Leighton in her daily life and was birthed from being an individual whose existence feels ordinary. Maybe you are a mom (whether stay at home or working outside the home), a dad stuck in the rut of your job, a college student that yearns for life after school that cannot seem to come fast enough or maybe you are simply just a soul feeling ordinary and stuck in your own routine of life.
This project is written for you. It is written for those who feel ordinary, for the person whose life is seemingly monotonous and for the soul who is longing for deeper meaning in the mundane. My friend, I am here to speak life into you by letting you know a palpable secret – There is holiness in the mundane. The Lord is continuously revealing this to me and I have begin to write each lesson. My heart is to share it with you and encourage you in the lessons I am learning.
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account."
If I think of the Word of God as words on paper, then it seems mundane and flat. But when I recognize the Scriptures as living and active, I begin to recognize the beauty in it. When we are immersed in Scripture daily, the Holy Spirit will bring those words to life through using every part of our monotonous lives. The beauty of the Lord piercing our lives with his Scriptures is that is makes everything an opportunity for holiness. My prayer is that this project opens eyes to more of these Holy Mundane moments in your own life.
The first post of the series will begin next week so be on the lookout! I am excited to share this journey with you.
